Adams Fundamentals Academy Training
What is AFA Basketball?
Adams Fundamentals Academy specializes in teaching both elite skills on the court, coupled with life skills learned throughout every athlete training program that can be used on and off the court. We believe in teaching: Discipline, Love and Sacrifice for all our programs. Discipline for doing each drill the correct way, all the time without taking short cuts. Sacrifice by cutting things out that may limit our goals or cause distractions. Love, meaning quite simply, loving the process and the grind to become great. All programs require an evaluation process to determine the proper fit for our academy.

Junior Ballers Basketball Training
Introduction: This program is designed for 1st-3rd graders and will be focusing on the basic of basketball play. Our main goal is for young athletes to LOVE the game first. We will celebrate every success and challenging drill on the court. Below are the basic drills we will work on for the first half of training (25 mins) and then we will let the kids play games for the remainder of the time.
Dribbling Drills
· Stationary Dribbling - Players will stand in place and practice dribbling with their dominant hand and then switch to their non-dominant hand. Focus on keeping the ball low and under control.
· Dribble Relays - relay race where students dribble the ball to a cone and back. This helps improve control and speed.
· Change of Direction Dribbling -cones in a zigzag pattern and students will dribble through them, practicing changing directions quickly.
Shooting Drills
· Form Shooting - Players will practice their shooting form by taking shots close to the basket, focusing on using proper technique.
· Spot Shooting - Players will shoot at various spots around the key, working on accuracy and consistency.
· Layup Lines - Players will be in two lines, one on each side of the basket. Students take turns dribbling in and performing a layup.
Passing Drills
· Chest Passes - Players will pair up and practice chest passes back and forth, focusing on stepping into the pass and using proper form.
· Bounce Passes - players will practice bounce passes with a partner, aiming to make the ball hit the ground halfway between them.
· Pass and Move - Players will pass the ball and then move to a different spot to receive another pass, encouraging movement and teamwork.
Defense Drills
· Defensive Stance - players will learn the proper defensive stance, keeping low with their hands up and feet shoulder-width apart.
